Officer Reports:

Activities (Chip Sheppard):

  • The Christmas Party will be on December 10 at Tom Moock’s house. Main dishes will be provided. Members are encouraged to RSVP to Rich Leggett by December 3 with side/dessert.
  • Don’t forget to send in your entries for the BAPA awards to Jug!
  • The Pilot Summit and next BAPA meeting will be held December 2 in at the Mitchell Community Center in Palo Alto.

Safety (Ann Sasaki) – We recently received a letter from a HAM operator about unauthorized radio usage at Mission and Ed Levin. All BAPA members are encouraged to get licensed and use proper Ham protocol, including announcing calls signs.

Safety (Wally Anderson) – Nothing to report locally but there was an incident at an SIV clinic.

Sites (Ann for Tom) – The meeting with Daly City officials went well but it is unlikely that the status quo will continue. The City will contact us at some point in the future regarding flying at Mussel Rock. For now it is fine to fly there but there should be no commercial activity and it is important to try to avoid accidents.

Treasurer (Ann for Raquel) – Please pay your BAPA dues by the end of the year. You can pay online via the BAPA website or send in a check. PLEASE be sure to update contact information and any new ratings or HAM call signs.

Old Business – August, September, October minutes have not been published so cannot be approved

New Business – Requested and approved the following expenditures:

  • $200 for Christmas Party supplies
  • $100 for cleaning up after the party
