The meeting was called to order by Ann Sasaki at 7:24.

Total 9 members attended, of which 3 were BAPA officers. Two members were attending the meeting after a long gap – Patrick Herms and Dan Foust.

Officer reports.

Ann Sasaki – the President

·     According to Juan Laos – WOR President - $1400 is due to be paid as permit tax (for EBRPD - East Bay Regional Parks District) for the Mission site. This is the first time anyone’s charging for its use. Juan suggested that BAPA contributes some money towards this amount. However, since all BAPA members who fly WOR sites are also WOR members, we feel like doing so would make us pay effectively twice. We need more information on where exactly this money goes and why is it being charged. Ann assigned Tom Moock to talk to Mission site director.

·     Ann notified members that the reserve clinic scheduled for February 11th has two more open seats.

 Atta Pilram – the Treasurer

·     The association raised $1900 so far from membership fees, although the potential is around $4300. So far 57 members paid their dues out of 152, 95 members haven’t paid yet. Not all checks have been deposited yet.

·     As of last week, our balance is $5800

·     SFBAPA now has its own tax id with the IRS

·     Atta noted some technical difficulties with managing our members database

·     February 6 is the deadline for submitting proof of insurance for Mt. Tam flying site. Unfortunately the insurance cannot be obtained until early March. Further investigation of the matter is necessary.

Old Business

·     Ann proposed to approve meeting minutes for January 2006. All attending members voted in support of the proposal.

 Entertainment

·     Following the officer reports, Dan Foust had a photo presentation of his paragliding trip to Peru in November 2005.
